The DRM chair self destructs after 8 uses

DRM CHAIR from thibault brevet on Vimeo.

Let`s face it no one likes DRM, well maybe the big corps but I know I sure don`t. This is the DRM chair and it has exactly 8 uses, thats it, after that it becomes a pile of wood.

This Barbot pees in your drinks

Shake is a barbot that has an interesting way of mixing you a drink. Shake was made by Inertial Labs for the Barbot competition in San Francisco this weekend. Shake is also capable of mixing you any 3 ingredient cocktail. See those cute little cherubs? They`ll be peeing the ingredients of the drink you ordered any second now. It is a pretty cool design and it seems to work well, good luck Shake.

First images from the bottom of a frozen Antarctic lake

Here are some images from an Antarctic lake cut off from the rest of the world since forever. Using a custom mini submersible NASA researchers explored Lake Whillans located under the Ross Ice Shelf and took these images along with some samples.

Robots and AC/DC: Compressorhead covers TNT

This is Compressorhead, you may have seen these robotic metalheads cover Motorhead`s Ace of Spades here. Well they`re back and this time they`re covering AC/DC`s TNT, in front of a live audience no less. All they need now are some robotic groupies.

Could you skydive using an umbrella?

Think you could skydive using an umbrella? Mary Poppins did it and now so did skier Eric Roner. Mind you this thing was a big custom umbrella, just look at how beefy the structure is on it. So do you think he actually made it all the way to ground using this thing? Watch and find out.

Let`s go to Mars!: Private Mars mission set for 2018

This is ambitious to say the least. Denis Tito, the first space tourist and his non profit group Inspiration Mars want to send a couple to Mars, or to be more precise a Mars fly-by in 2018. It`s a VERY aggressive schedule but attainable according to some.

Introducing the Super Arrow

There`s been a lot of talk about the procurement of F-35 fighter jets by the Canadian Air Force. Specifically the cost overruns, in the billions. So what alternatives does Canada have? There have been talks about a version of the F-18 Super Hornet called the Northern Growler, but what else? Dare we think it, could Canada make it`s own fighter, does it have the will? They once did.

Russian meteor.... who cares!

Not sure whether this is real or fake but its good for a laugh. It`s only 10 seconds long but this Russian driver allegedly recorded by his dash cam (which are EVERYWHERE in Russia) doesn`t really seem to give a flying F when the now famous meteor streaked across the sky. On second thought its probably fake but hey, good for chuckle.

"A million times": This Digital clock is made out of 288 analog clocks

'A million times' by Humans since 1982 from Humans since 1982 on Vimeo.

This is pretty amazing, this piece is called "A million times" by Stockholm based studio Humans since 1982. This digital clock is made out of 288 analog clocks to produce the digital readout, quite the choreographed wall sized art piece.

And now a vintage Rolls Royce with a Viper V10 engine, pure awesome

A Michigan man has just built one of THE most awesome hotrods ever. Take a vintage 2 door 1930 Rolls Royce, add a viper V10 engine and what do you get? One helluva car with 500 horsepower. I`d seriously consider this as a daily driver.

Mars could be hit by a comet in 2014

Recently a comet has been discovered that will make an uncomfortably close call... to Mars. The comet identified as C/2013 A1 could come within AU (650,000 miles) from Mars on Oct 19 2014 according to current observations. This guy came from the Oort Cloud, a distant region of the outer solar system that contains countless comets.

Now that`s one small step: Moonwalk recreated in the eye of a needle

British "micro-artist" Willard Wigan latest creation depicts the Apollo 11 mission by placing Buzz Aldrin's moonwalk inside the eye of a needle. In fact Wigan`s artwork is so small that a high powered microscope is needed to see the finer details of his work.

Just how big is the Universe really?

This is from Minute Physics and it gives you an idea just how overwhelmingly large the Universe really is, and at the same time it makes you feel inconceivably small.

Oceanwings: Fly underwater just like a manta ray

I was wondering when someone would do this is, seriously. These are Oceanwings, they look and act like wingsuits that base jumpers use except that these are for aquatic use. Currently these are a one off design, there are not plans for product yet, why I seriously don`t know.

Long lost continent discovered under Indian Ocean

There`s a long lost continent that has been discovered in the Indian Ocean between Madagascar and India. The evidence comes from the beaches of Mauritius where rock fragments have been found that point to an ancient continental crust.

Legonardo the Legobot can draw portraits

This is Legonardo (nice play on words there), he likes to draw portraits. He`s made of Lego technic brick and controlled using Lego Mindstorms parts via a PC. He`s pretty good at it too.

This hotel was designed for stargazers

LosDomos TimeLapse from Boppin Community on Vimeo.

This is Elqui Domos, its a hotel nestled in the Elqui Valley in Chile. The great thing about this hotel is that it has its very own observatory, which is great if you`re a vacationing astronomer or just an avid stargazer.
