Moon crater may have ice

Shackleton crater, a 3 billion year old crater located at the Moon`s south pole may contain ice.
Shackleton`s crater is an impressive landmark, coming in at 21 km wide and about as deep as the Earth`s oceans. Due to the minor tilt of the lunar spin axis, the poles contain regions of near-permanent sunlight, needed for power, and in the case of Shackleton crater regions of near permanent darkness which would allow the deep recesses of the crater to contain ice. Both of these resources would be essential for any lunar colony.
